Erasmus Mundus offers culturally enriching higher education opportunities for both European and Non-European students.
Prospective students from any country are invited to apply to participate in an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course, provided they have obtained a first degree awarded by a higher education institution.

Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses are high-quality study programmes at masters level offered by a consortium of at least three European higher education institutions. They last between one and two years and lead to the award of a recognised double, joint or multiple degree. Students have to study in at least two institutions. There exist Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses in almost all academic disciplines. An Erasmus Mundus Masters Course normally starts between August and November, depending on the usual starting date of the academic year in the countries concerned. The amount of scholarhip is € 24 000 for a one-year EM Master Course, to € 48 000 for a two-year EM Master Course.
From 2009 the sholarships are available for a number of Erasmus Mundus Joint programmes offered at doctorate level.
Please see the list of the selected EM Courses.
Students can also benefit scholarships within the Erasmus Mundus action 2 projects. Three such projects are currently being implemented with participation of the institutions from Serbia. These are:
Basileus, JoinEU SEE and STEM
The projects distinguish 3 target groups:
Target group 1 are undergraduate, master, doctorate, post-doctorate students registered in one of the partner universities of the consortium.
In Basileus project partner universities from Serbia are: University of Belgrade, University of Novi Sad, University of Kragujevac University of Niš. In JoinEU SEE project these are University of Belgrade and University of Novi Sad. This means that, in case of Serbia, students from these respective universities in two selected projects are considered to be target group 1.
Target group 2 are students registered or those who obtained a university degree in a higher education institution of partner countries but not included in the partnership of the project.
These can be also people working in public administration, public and private enterprises. That means that students/graduates from all other recognized higher education institutions from Serbia other than those participating in projects, are considered eligible for mobility within target group 2.
Target group 3
Target group 3 covers mobility for students having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries) or where it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination grounds or nationals belonging to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or IDP's (internally displaced population).
An exchange student is registered at a university (home university) and temporarily studies/researches at a partner university (host university). The exchange period for students lasts from 1 semester to max. 10 months. Students do not obtain a diploma from the host institution. However, all academic results will be sent to the students' home university and will be recognized by using the two ECTS tools: the learning agreement and the transcript of records. Exchange students need the approval of their home and host university. If the mobility is inferior to 10 months, tuition fees will be paid to the respective home university (where applicable) and waved at the host university. In case the exchange mobility lasts longer than 9 months and 30 days, tuition fees at the host university will be funded with up to a maximum of 3.000 € (if applicable).
A degree student registers at a university in an EU or Candidate country and is no longer a student at his/her former university in one of the 6 Western Balkan partner countries (including Serbia). Degree students will obtain a diploma from the host university in the EU or Candidate country. Students applying as degree students need to comply with the local admission requirements. If selected they have to follow the standard individual application procedure at their host institution. Admission criteria of all partner institutions in the consortium have to be respected. It is the responsibility of the applicant to get in contact with the respective institutions before submitting an application. Tuition fees are funded with up to a maximum of 3000 € per year (if applicable).
