Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available for scholars (academics) who want to carry out research and teaching assignments and scholarly work for an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course and for an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorates (starting from 2010).
See the list of EM courses:
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are both for non-EU scholars to carry out scholarly work in the EU and for the EU scholars to carry out scholarly work outside EU.
Thus, non-EU scholar can work in one or more of the higher education institutions running the Course of her/his choice. These scholarships are awarded to the best scholars on a competitive basis. It should be noted that third-country scholars have to provide their own insurance cover.
Similarly, an EU scholar working for an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course (next year Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorates too) is eligible for a three-month scholarship to carry out scholarly work for the Course at a third-country partner institution if her/his Course has started an Erasmus Mundus Partnership with the institution in the third country.
The scholarship covers travel and living expenses for a three-month working assignment: 3-month stay = 13,000 €
This amount comprises a monthly grant of 4,000 Euro and a fixed amount of 1,000 Euro for travel expenses. The amount of the grant awarded may vary according to the actual duration of the stay at the host institution.
