Thematic meeting held on June 2nd, 2011

Thematic meeting was attended by coordinators and contact persons of the on-going projects in the country related to curricular reform and quality culture, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, members of Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance, representatives of universities and Conference of Academies of Vocational Schools, members of the Higher Education Reform Experts Team and representatives of the Tempus office. There were approximately 60 participants.
The meeting was moderated by Prof. Radivoje Mitrovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science. Introductory speeches were held by Prof. Vera Vujicic, president of the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance and Prof. Vera Dondur, representative of Serbia in Bologna Follow-up Group, Head of the Higher Education Reform Experts Team and president of the National Council for Science and Technological Development.
Main topics of the meeting were:
- Contribution of projects to improvement of standards for accreditation prior to the beginning of the second cycle of accreditation and
- Benchmarking and revision of the curriculum based on defining competences and learning outcomes.
It was foreseen also that the following topics should be discussed:
- Improvement of external accreditation – engaging external experts, suggestions of project teams;
- Standards for newly established institutions;
- Regional cooperation;
- Preparation for joining thematic networks;
- Preparation for student exchange at the larger scale;
- Study programs at the level of university;
- Joint study programs, multiple degrees;
- Inter-, multi- and transdisciplinarity and
- Lecturers of foreign languages.
